Serious Fraud Investigation Office is a multi-disciplinary investigation agency under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. It handles complex corporate fraud investigations involving banking, securities, taxation, corporate governance, forensic auditing, and economic offences.


Post Details

The SFIO is inviting applications for Consultant and Young Professional positions, including legal consultants. These roles are designed for experienced law graduates and professionals to assist in high-level investigations, prosecutions, and legal advisory work related to corporate fraud and economic offences.

Selected candidates will work closely with investigation officers, forensic experts, and prosecutors on ongoing high-profile financial fraud cases across India.

  • Assist in investigation of corporate fraud cases under the Companies Act.
  • Draft legal documents including complaints, petitions, replies, and affidavits.
  • Provide legal opinions on corporate, financial, and economic law matters.
  • Support prosecution teams in courts and tribunals.
  • Analyze corporate records, financial statements, and forensic audit reports.
  • Coordinate with regulators and enforcement agencies (ED, CBI, etc.).
  • Assist in preparing investigation reports and case summaries.
  • Conduct legal research on corporate and financial laws.
  • LL.B. degree (mandatory for legal consultant roles).
  • Minimum experience (generally 1–5 years depending on post).
  • Strong knowledge of Corporate Law, Companies Act, and Criminal Law.
  • Experience in litigation, regulatory, or investigative work preferred.
  • Good drafting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Bar Council enrollment preferred for litigation-oriented roles.
