Appellate Tribunal (SAFEMA) functions under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It adjudicates matters under special and economic statutes and supports judicial decision-making in complex financial and enforcement-related cases.


Post Details

The Appellate Tribunal (SAFEMA) invites applications for the position of Legal Research Associate (LRA) on a contractual basis. Selected candidates will assist Members of the Tribunal in legal research, case preparation, drafting support, and analysis of statutes and judgments. The role offers exposure to tribunal-level adjudication and high-value economic law matters.

  • Conduct detailed legal research on assigned matters.
  • Compile and analyze case laws, statutes, and judicial precedents.
  • Prepare legal and factual case briefs/synopses.
  • Assist in drafting judgments and orders (if required).
  • Attend tribunal hearings and record arguments.
  • Maintain legal records and research databases.
  • Assist Members/Chairperson in case preparation.
  • Organize and retrieve legal materials efficiently.
  • LL.B. degree (3-year or 5-year course) with minimum 50% marks.
  • Enrollment with Bar Council of India.
  • Age not exceeding 30 years (as on last date of application).
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (SCC Online, Manupatra, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Good moral character and no criminal background.
