How to Apply

The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) is a constitutional body established under Article 338A of the Constitution of India. The Commission safeguards the rights and interests of Scheduled Tribes and advises the Government on matters concerning tribal welfare, constitutional protections, and policy implementation. 

  • Conduct research on tribal welfare schemes and policies.
  • Study constitutional and statutory safeguards for Scheduled Tribes.
  • Assist in policy analysis and implementation assessment.
  • Undertake research on tribal land rights, forest rights, displacement, education, health, and livelihood issues.
  • Prepare reports, policy briefs, and analytical notes.
  • Participate in orientation sessions and supervised field visits.
  • Submit and present a final research report at the end of the internship. 
  • Students pursuing graduation (2nd year onwards) in:
    • Law
    • Social Sciences
    • Humanities
    • Commerce
    • Science
    • Related disciplines
  • Postgraduate students and research scholars.
  • Minimum 60% marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • Age: 18–30 years (relaxations applicable as per government norms).
  • Preference may be given to deserving candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes.

Application Process

  1. Visit the NCSTGRAMS Portal.
  2. Complete the online application form.
  3. Upload all required documents.
  4. Submit a Statement of Purpose explaining your interest in the internship and how your skills can contribute to the Commission.
  5. Submit the application before 18 June 2026, 5:00 PM.
  6. Selection Process

    • Applications will be scrutinized by the Commission.
    • Shortlisting will be based on eligibility, academic performance, and quality of the Statement of Purpose.
    • Approximately 10 candidates will be selected per batch.

    Certificate of Internship

    Interns who:

    • Maintain at least 90% attendance,
    • Successfully complete assigned work,
    • Submit and present the final report,

    will receive an Internship Completion Certificate from NCST.
